Tina Santi Flaherty, author, philanthropist, Churchill scholar and businesswoman, is unique in that she is probably the only TV performer who went on to become the first female vice-president of three of America’s leading corporations: Colgate-Palmolive, Grey Advertising and GTE, now Verizon.

Tina’s show business career began in her native Memphis, TN, where she hosted a daily TV show on the local NBC affiliate. She was also a disc-jockey for the world’s first “all-girls” radio station, WHER, owned and operated by the legendary Sam Phillips (who discovered Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Tina)!

Upon moving to New York City, her rise to success in business was rapid, and outsiders credit her individualistic, but results-oriented style of working as one of the reasons. As Industry Week magazine put it, “Tina is as different from other corporate executives as a Rembrandt is from the oil painting hanging behind her desk.”

Designated one of the original “Powerchicks,” along with Hillary Rodham Clinton and others in a leading business book, Tina Flaherty blazed new paths for women in business while still in her 20’s. She was subsequently described by Business Week as “One of America’s top corporate women.”

At the height of her powers, Tina turned her back on big business and opted for the entrepreneurial route. The author of three popularly acclaimed books -- her most recent book, “What Jackie Taught Us: Lessons from the Remarkable Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, was released by Penguin Random House in an expanded Commemorative Edition in May of 2014.

A contributor to Fortune, Glamour, Marie Claire and Town & Country magazines, as well as to The Daily News, Newsday and the Monterey Herald newspapers. Tina continues to write and lecture on her two favorite subjects – Winston Churchill and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Tina’s g-g-g-g-ggreat grandfather, who was from South Carolina, fought in that war.

A mega Churchill fan, she credits Winston Churchill’s motto to “Never, Never, Never Give Up” as a major inspiration for her writing life.

Tina resides in New York City with her two dogs, Jackie O (named after the one and only Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis) and Scarlett O’Hara, with frequent visits from her nine nieces and nephews who tell her they like her Central Park view.
